I'm assuming this is like an eBay or thirdgen classified thing? Once you add exchange, shipping and brokerage it would come to about $230-$240CAD. For $299CAD so can get a brand new one, full warranty so to speak. I'd rather have the new one.

easy, you dont need an MSD box. you need some real mods before you need one of those. you will just be wasting your money, which could be better spent on something useful, like headers and exhaust.

I agree with darbleinad. There's no reason whatsever you need a performance ignition box right now. Get som nice ceramic coated headers for that price almost and pickup some actual HP from the mod.
EDIT: well I guess yer still short $100-150 for some good ceramic coated headers but I think coated flowtechs might be right in this price range and they're alright.

I just bought an MSD 6A for my car......haven't installed it yet....but....I was running out of things to buy...as far as bolt on performance goes....I'm not looking to pop wheelies or anything....and I know the MSD boxes do not produce power or anything...I just thought maybe it would idle just a little smoother....plus...I like the look of'em....hah

I have fitted the MSD 6a box to a 1977 T/A with a 400ci and my 1986 SC Camaro with a lowly LG4 305. On both occasions the idle speed increased about 150 rpm and smoooooothed out considerably!
Just my experiences.

The 6AL box is a good investment either way Easy. Whether you buy it now, or after some other mods. It does help with power past the 5000RPM range as D said, but where it really helps is from idle to 3000RPM. In this range it produces multiple sparks(MSD-->Multiple Spark Discharge) helping your efficiency, therefore aiding in bottom end power, and increasing throttle response. If you buy it now, you will see a change, and get more out of your other mods as you go, do what you want, it's your car!

So......where has everyone mounted their MSD Box at? There are a couple guys on here that have made like brackets and mounted them about their battery....it looks really uniform..and clean.....I don't want to mount mine in a corner...or anything..it makes it look kind of cluttered...

i got an MSD 6AL for my camaro, it only has a 305, but it had a miss around idle when i put the cam in so i bought one, to help me pass emissions and it did, i pass with all that is in my sig, provided it was close, i still did.
I have never had an ignition problem since i put mine in, except going through plugs fast, and burning up rotors, bt this is after a lot of driving.
worth it if you ask me, for drive ability, especially on cold morning, plus always starts right away,
i like it but i also had a bunch of mods already so.... now or later, it is still worth it
