track times for new 355 SR/219
Well, the 355 super ram ran a 13.2 at 104mph at crappy Luskville last night. I spun through first and half of second, then we bumped the timing and it got even worse!! That track SUCKS!! The car is running way too rich, and that was the first time out with it. I think some traction and some tuning will bring the car down to the 12's easy(hell traction alone would have brought it to 12's last night!) The only thing I am not pleased about is the trap speed, it seem's a bit low to me??

great job man. those are still great times.
traction will help lots. what do you have now? stock suspension and street tires?

ya i would say 104 for a 13.2 is low also if you are having big traction issues. most people that run 13.2 are in the 108 range
what were the 60s

Sounds like it's coming togeather nicely though - 13.2 with wheelspin - sounds like it's peppy to me. 12's aren't far off. The biggest problem is Luskville - period. The track is garbage, 2 old tractor paths in a field, it's on the wrong side of the river, and the operator, Arnie, is nothing but an ignorant child. The only posotive about that track: is hot, sluty french chicks!

take it on a sideroad.......
Make a full throttle pass through 3 gears (if auto, or 4 gears if its the 5 spd) and shut her down right at the end, coast to a stop.....take a look at those plugs
they'll tell you lots.

104mph is what I usualy ran with my 383 last year, So I bet with some tunning on there ya can get a few more MPH out of it
13.2's pretty good, I couldnt get better then 13.5 @ 104.6mph out of my car last year. Traction problems

Thanks guys!! The car is running way rich so I am gonna call faster prom and have them lean it out some with the data I got off the scanner this weekend. My comp. is actually only 9:1 because I am planning a prochager for next year. My 60's were anywhere from 2.1 to 2.4 cause as the night went on, the track got worse. I am running a 275/40/17 in the rear and they are crappy goodyears, so a better tire alone should get me into the 12's I think!!

Do yourself a favor and get a pair of slicks. They are worth their wait in gold. 2.4 60 ft on a 13.2!
I betting on high 12's with traction. It should be expected with the AFR/superram/219 setup.

Well I found out I am actually running lean(just learning to make sense of the scanner data) my BLM's are at 160 everywhere and 144 at WOT, so it is fairly lean. I ran the 13.2 with a 2.1-2.2 60ft time.....but then I bumped the timing and the car got faster, and the traction got worse!!
Little stupid story if anyone cares:
Lined up on my last run with a 92 5.0 mustang, the guy asks one of the import guys to back up just so he can squeeze in line to run me. The guy was so cocky, him and his women were pissin me off!! He red lights with a .23.. reaction time, I cut a .546 and I am spining through first and half of second then I blow by him like he hit the brakes!! The track was so dark in the big end(and I forgot my headlights) so I tapp the brakes two thirds of the way down the track, and still ran a 13.8 at 88mph.LOL The stang ran a 14.2 at high 90's. So I have a feeling that would have been my 12 sec run for sure cause that was the run after we bumped the timing, and I did not run after that(only got 4 runs all night).
What really makes me mad was after that run my buddy's like "scrap that one" while he was laughing at me, and I tossed the stupid slip. So I don't even know what my 60ft or 1/8 mile times were.

After you bumped the timing and then ran it down, on your 88mph run, were you pinging down the track with your increased timing and lean mixture. If not, try another degree of timing. Run the timing up till it starts to ping WOT, then back it off a degree or two after.

Corey, great times. Don't abuse it too badly until you have that lean condition fixed. You've got a 12 second car as it is, just wait until it's running right

to do any tuning at wot you need a widebann O2. that is the only way to know the AFR or plug reading
odds are good that you are lean if you are pegged at 160 at idle and if you have the stock chip or bigger injectors in there its most likly way out.

I'm gonna go easy until I get my next chip(having them done by faster prom). My timing I think is close now Cruz'n cause I am getting 1 extra deg of retard on the scanner at WOT so I'm gonna back it down a touch. The company I used for programming is awsome!! They are doing reburns to get the chip right at NO CHARGE and they are sending me multiple proms this time so that I can get this thing dialed in better.

But he's right, take it easy till it's running just right, then the three of us will have to have a back country jaunt...
