TPI on a 400+ ci motor ?
I was wondering if this is a feasible thing. I am still trying to decide exactly how much I really wanna invest in the engine. I may end up going for a zz4 with forged pistons, but I am also considering the possibility of a 400+ based on a Dart Little-M or World Products block. I want to keep it pretty stock looking though. I have already decided that I am going to keep the plenum and AS&M runners and invest in the edelbrock TPI base and port the heck out of it. I was wondering if this setup can flow enough for all those cubes... What kind of #'s I should expect say vs an LT1 intake. I'm looking long and hard at AFR 190's. If I went with a bigger motor I would go with AFR210's. Any input is very valued and appreciated thanks .

I would really go with the LT1 intake or Mini Ram if you don’t have to pass emissions. To use TPI on a 400 you will have to buy an aftermarket base and runners and port the whole intake. TPI was originally designed for a 305, so if you want to use it on a 400 you are going to have to do a lot of work to it or else that engine is going to be starving for air. You should also consider the Super Ram; it is emissions legal and flows well.
If you want flow benchmarks search the form they have been posted before.

Well to be honest I love the look of my stock TPI intake. I think I am just going to have to do major porting . It's also nice to have that "basically stock" look as well . I saw a guy on this board cutting 1.6 60' times and hitting high 11's low 12's @ around 110! Thats with AFR 190's, edelbrock base, AS&M runners and stock plenum. Siamsesed and Ported thoroughly. That was on a ZZ4 block.
