No t-top/350 combo was made from 90+.

I do beleive that the t-top/350 option was available from 87-89.

I also thought that in 91-92 you could only get a 350 without T-tops

Some 90-92 5.7 t-rood cars did sneak out, just like t-top 1LE cars. They exist and I have proof.

Strangely, I have only seen either case on Firebirds, never Camaros. It seems Pontiac was more willing to give customers what they wanted or their computers screwed up and didn't reject the orders.

I would like to see the proof. You may be referring to the aftermarket t tops installed on some cars. None came with t's from the factory.

Proof? Yes I have proof including Vin#s decoded through GM.

No BS here.

I am actually in the process of possibly purchasing a 'fully loaded", (except A/C of course), t-roof 91 1LE T/A. Factory mistake? Maybe so, but it is the real thing. It even has a power antenna!

Documented and real. Check the 1LE.net website there are a couple other members with them too.

And I used to chat with a guy on this board a year or so back with a 91 L98 t-roof T/A, it was legit as well. And he said he knew of a couple more. But they are also factory mistakes that snuck out. The rarest of all third-gens I am sure.

As I said before, it only seems to be 'Birds that snuck out like this, never heard of or seen any documented Camaros.

I suppose I could post a pic of the build sheet if I scan it.

First clue to factory T's is the roof metal is rolled against the glass.

Aftermarket T's will have a frame between the roof and glass.

AFAIK no 350's ever came with T's. I worked in a aftermarket shop in the late 80's to early 90 and all IROCS, and TA's that came in from dealers for T's were 350's... rarely a 305 came in for T's.

The big problem was dealers would add the tops prior to sale, so most owners figured the tops were stock.

The only way to tell would be to look at the original build sheet.

Exactly and all these cars I have seen have factory t's with the CC1 RPO code, meaning they are the real deal.

And all 350 f-bodies were available with t-roofs from 87-89, that is a fact. There were no restrictions, except 1LEs.

But some sneaked out as did 90-92 350 cars which were also suppose to be restricted to solid roof cars.

i have yet to see 5.7 1LE t-top cars, the ones I know of are all 5.0s and all Firebirds.

Actually, I had an 87 Formula with aftermarket t-tops.

They were horrible! Just driving in light rain netted you a cool shower!

Well there we go, yet another "unavailable" 90-92 Firebird 5.7 with t-tops!

Now I wonder if we'll ever find a 1LE 5.7 t-top version like the freaky 305 one I am looking to buy. Ya never know!

I'll have pics of it in the next couple of days and I'll post one of the RPO sticker for proof that they do exist.

Yes, there definitely are 90-92s with T-Tops. This has actually already been covered to death.

One of the keys here is that if you elected to get the black crosslace rims then you were 'officially' allowed to get T-Tops. However, there were even some cars that snuck out with T's that didn't have the black crosslace rims.

A friend of mine had a 1991 Formula 350 with t-tops. They had the name "C&C" stamped on the tops and they were made of Lexan.

The car was unfortunately totaled many years a go.

Yes, they are out there. It might be hard to believe that some slipped out from the factory, but that what actually happened. Seen a couple of them in my days.

c&c = aftermarket t-tops. f.y.i it would not have rpo code cc1 on the rpo sheet.

cc1 on the rpo sheet = factory t-tops.

i know some firebirds in 91 & 92 came with the 350 and t-tops, because i have on, but as far as camaro z28's i havent seen one that had a 350 tpi and t-tops, other than a few with aftermarket t-top units.

C&C is Cars and Concepts.. Aftermarket sunroofs, T's and moon roofs.

ASC is American Sunroof Company... same products.

Both offered T's for Thirdgens, and G-bodies except Malibu's due to different design of the roof panel. (rounded on Malibu, squared off on Monte, Regal, Cutlass, etc.)

Used to love taking a brand new IROC, and stripping the interior, add a door brace to hold its shape and cutting about 2 feet out of the roof.... than spread the bars, slid the T-panel in, bring the bars back to normal spread and pop rivet the top in.. Takes about a day and a half to do one correctly.. BW
