for that matter, if you can't be bothered to look through a few posts to a google search, last I checked the link to my blog that I posted here is the number one hit...
i went to try the link you supplied, but it doesnt work anymore. if there is any way you know of for me to get a hold of that it would be greatly appreciated.
the vin aint gonna help, I know the car factory came with a 305 but i was told by the guy that a 350 was put in semi built with a mild cam. so I'm tring to see if hes crappin me or not. so far i hear i have to tear down engine and the heads will have numbers, and if i measure the bore in the piston walls that will tell me the block. cause i also cant see nothin on the back block of bellhousing. I just didnt know if there are any tricks to identifying these from just lookin at a certain thing on them. thanks
see if you can use a light and mirror to check the casting number on the block and run that on the net or call it in to your local GM dealer. Thats all i know....hope hat helps a little more.

Sweet, glad it worked for you.
I down loaded the pdf file and saved that as well.
I have a 91 s10 with a 355. I just bought a 89 corvette tpi with computer and all the wires and plugs still in tact. I need injectors but not sure of what size or kind. I eventually want to put all this in my 48 chevy Fleetline. Is there anything else i'm going to need to make this work?

That's a whole different topic, lots of work for that swap. Fuel pump, ECM wiring and power from the old Chevy, cooling, drive line mods, etc. I'd suggest going to www.chevytalk.com and look around, ask the guys on the forum that pertains to the old Chevy. I'd bet it's been done by someone on there.

Most excellent. Thank you for relinking again. I for one do appreciate you doing this!
to anyone else looking for more info, i found a great book. its called TPI Swappers Guide. It has a maintance break down of error codes along with tons of other great info. You can get it on amazon for like 15 I think. I payed near 20 for it at barns.
I got this book along with a bunch of TPI parts for my swap. I was browsing thru and got to the section where they start to identify lower intakes and they identified both the Corvette and late intakes as casting number "18436572". I thought "what kind of an idiot would give an intake a casting number that is the same as the firing order?" Then I realized what the ahd done.....
I don't know who helped write the book but John Braechtel has been around cars longer than that................
I seeyou guys talking about this article...i clicked on it and i cant seem to get the page to load ......my email is camarochris91z28 if you guys could somehow send me the article it would be greatly appreciated....seems like it may be verry helpfull.

This link still works, just give it a minute to load, it's a big file.
If you are unsuccessful, post, and I will e-mail you the file.
But both of these pdf links on this page worked fine for me.
hello I'm new to the tpi world. I just bought an 89 iroc 5.0L with 55k miles on it in great shape. I am swapping out the injectors as I already had a 2 bad ones. Can I use the 5.7 injectors? I would like to make an extra 50 hp without losing the stock look.I already have done cat back exhaust. My list of todo's are: injectors, throtte body air foil, hot coil,k&n,egr valve, fuel pressure regulator(50psi)....anything else or do's or don't.I am gathering as much info as fast as I can would like to get this done asap. thanks much!

If you put in the larger injectors without changing the values in the computer chip, the car will run way too rich.
Very nice. But wow, just went through tons of trouble to find out the fuel pump was going bad...
