stock 91 305 tpi rockers

are the stock rockers in a 91 z 305 tpi rollor or non? and if they are non can i replace them with a set of 1.5 roller rockers without any mods, as in grinding baffles and the such, thanx

No factory third gen got a roller rocker. They all got the rubber rockers. In short, the crappy, stamped, flimsy, weak, ugly, funny, boat shaped, hollow, and typically known as pieces of crap rocker arms.

The only thing that differed between sets were the fact of self aligning or non. A direct bolt in for you, and the best suggestion on a budget, the Comp magnum roller tips. Get the self aligning versions and they wil bolt right up. Avoid the aluminum bodied rockers if you can. Aluminum doesn't have the fatigue resistance like steel does.

cool thanx for the quick reply, now if i were to get them comp ones will i have to change the rocker studs? or will the bolt right on,i see that they are 1.52 ratio, iam going to put an lt1 cam in it with that cam and the 1.52 will i be pushing the stock head springs? i was told it was a 450 and 460 lift with 1.5 so i figured it would be about 456 and 466 with the 1.52`s but i think the stock z-28 springs are good till 480 or so? also what about a set of 1.5 proform steel ones or are they too much like the factory ones? thanx again

regardless of how much the stock springs will take, it is always a good idea to upgrade valve springs and use screw in studs when using a hotrod cam and rockers. also dont waste your money on stamped steel rockers with roller tips. do it right the first time and get good expensive, true roller tip and roller fulcrum rockers and thank yourself for making the right choice and spending the extra cash later.

PS: you may need guide plates depending on which rockers you use.
