fuel rail damaged?

fuel rail damaged?

I installed an AFPR on a fuel rail I pulled from my friend's car and was just going to pull mine and install that, but the fuel rail seems loose on the connections between each side and I'm worried the rail is going to leak fuel. would this be a reasonable assumption or am I being paranoid?

Are you seaking of the tubes that go from either side??? Most that I have played with are a little bit loose, how loose is loose here???

ya the tubes that go from side to side in the front and back of it. it's just a tiny amount which I normally wouldn't be worried about, but we are talkin about fuel here (and a little more than stock psi) so I wasn't sure if it's tight once it's installed or what

OK then, well just try to tighten the torxs screws that hold them together to be sure they are snug, if so I am guessing your good to go....

Not a problem Luke, glad to help. BTW, how's the weather down there in FL?? Here in Ontario by Niagara Falls, we are at around the mid 60's Not bad here for early spring.

76 pretty cloudy, no imminent threat of rain though... good day to work on my car i guess you could say...

see I could deal with mid 60s, it's that single digit and negative temperatures that I wouldn't be able to deal with...

LOL!! This year wasn't to bad for low temps, I think the lowest we got was around -15. But last weekend we got hit with a very heavy snow storm we got close to 3' of snow in most areas around Southern Ontario. It was nasty!!! I will be working on my beast a bit later too, change the gear oil, flush the rad, oil change, tranny fluid change and filter. Getting ready to have some fun. Hope all works out for you down in the Sunny state.

-15? 3' of snow? F- that... then again i'd imagine you'd probably say the same thing to 4 hurricanes making landfall in the same state in 1 season...

fyi bbk afpr's are crap. they send you the wrong size torx bit to remove the old one, then since the bolts have metal sticking up in the center, you have to take a torx bit or screwdriver and bash the bolts with a hammer so that the grooves get in place and you can actually turn the bolt.

it's working (still need to get a gauge to test psi) but I had to cut the bolt that adjusts the pressure so it wouldn't hit the plenum when I was reinstalling it. now I know after reading the boards to go with a holley one... live and learn...

btw I just swapped my fpr out and didn't swap the whole rail. didn't want to risk it...

Hell no, I would much rather the snow and cold then Hurricanes and tornados. I was in Clearwater, Fl. many years ago when a Hurricane showed the state it's anger, I would much rather be here then there as in a place to live, no offense of course. But yeah those torxs you are speaking of are Tamper proof torx screws, so that not just anyone can remove them.
