CAM and LIFTER combo HELP

Just got a stock 350 tpi engine from a gta. I always have problems selecting cams for the engines i put togeather though. I'm looking for something that will give me a nice rough, lobie idle and serious low end power. I've been seeing the scorpion rollers on a lot of projects super chevy puts togeather and was wondering if anyone had used these before. Are they nice rollers? I'm totally lost on a cam though, no idea what to buy. As far as the idle, i know that too much lobe will set that knock sensor off. OBD1 is primitive and one can program the PCM (ecu) in OBD2 to ignore such things, but has anyone attempted to do this in OBD1 systems? Please give me a kick in the right direction on a cam and lifter package. I'm shooting for 350 hp and tons of torque.

Car: 89 GTA
Engine: 350
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.27
Here is a list of mods I went with. The cam gave it a very nice rough idle, Ive only been driving it a few weeks and have had people commenting on the idle. Its got plenty of power to. Ill be taking it to a drag strip before to long to find out what it will run in the 1/4. If your running stock heads the cam will be to much lift though.

------------
Mods. GMPP Vortec heads, Comp Cams XR269HR, Crane Gold Rockers, Hooker headers, SDPC intake manifold, free flow exhaust, Air Foil, TB Bypass, K&N filter. Future mods, TPIS Runners, AFPR.

yeah I'm running stock heads. Err.... i ment to say rockers not lifters lol. I keep seeing people posting about these zz cams? I just dont want to goof this, I don't want to have to go and take the engine apart again because I'm unhappy with cam/rocker selection thats all.

Whats the highest duration and lift I can go with on stock heads? I'm looking at these XFI comp cams and they are all in the 500 lift range. I'm planning on doing rockers, springs and rods as well but im unsure of the stud size. I want to go with the 1.6's but I don't know if they are 3/8 or 7/16... I'm also pretty set on the speed pro pistons...
