Yes, a stock IROC 350 with 245HP and 345 Torque will beat that car!! I don't know what that IROC's 0-60 is, but in 87 it was 0-60 in 6.2 sec. stock, and that was with 225HP and 330 Torque.

That was in response to the post above mine.
Why? Because it's the truth
Every story has 2 sides - sometimes american muscle wins, sometimes a 2000 pound car with only 225 horsepower wins.

Granted, most of those cars have NOTHING.

But then there are those cars that shock you. A turbo AWD eclipse gave my car a hell of a run last nite... would have ripped apart lots of other cars.

I clocked my 0-60 at 6 seconds flat, this guy was probably around 6.3 or 6.4. How many other cars on here can realistically beat that on the street?

I don't know about the rest of the country, but around here most Iroc's are slow.

Stupid? Truth? Could be either

The previous post u made was better, the 1st 1 made u come off kinda different.

Give me some information on that dudes car that raced the IROC. The IROC might have been a 350, or maybe it wasn't, but if it was, u don't know how it was mechanically.

I gotta admit Steve R is right. An 88 LO3 TBI automatic 2.73 convertible IROC was like a high 16 second car and will probably lose to a 86 non turbo RX7 However, any stock TPI IROC unless there is something wrong with it,will whip its a$$.

It's an '86 RX-7. 5-speed racing transmission, 3.90 gears, and we don't know what's in the rotary. It's got a complete road racing suspension package, and was weighed at 2150 pounds with full tank of gas and stereo system. Dyno'd at 182hp @ i believe 6200 RPMS. That's abour 225 net. It's quick. About equal to my Iroc up to 60, but after that he's gone.. I top out about 125, he hits over 150. Just because some of the rice boys BS their brains out, doesnt mean they all do.
Oh yeah, the car looks and sounds completely stock, aside from the konig's and the nitto's Definitley a decent car, for an import. IF I'm wrong, please feel free to contradict me, I love a good debate..

It depends, if they have forced induction and NOS they could be quick, but thats what it takes, and alot of them most likely don't know how to use all that stuff right, they just want to be fast even though their cars aren't meant for that. Dudes with musclecars, cars that are meant to be fast, don't need that BS, and if they do add that stuff on, U know that no ***** is going to beat or even almost beat a V8.

A 4cyl with forced induction and NOS vs. a V8 with forced induction and NOS. Who do u think will win??

Some ricers beat V8's u know why, because some guys think, I got a V8, let me just mod it and I will be fast, even though my oil hasn't been changed in 10,000 miles and I haven't ever had a tune up. A car has to be good mechanically to be fast, it doesn't matter if u have a V8 or not. Will some V8's that aren't good mechanically beat 4cyl's, yes, because maybe the 4cyl doesn't have forced induction and other stuff, but a V8 is a V8. Somtimes though when a ***** has a good mechanical engine that has all kinds of BS on it and sometimes even when they don't, it could maybe a beat not as good mechanically V8, but if they both are, the V8 will win.

my friend has an 86 or so rx-7 and he burned it up, and I went with him to the mechaninc while they were working on the thing, after looking at that thing I don't think we should even bring engine size into account, the rotary is completely different and must have different specs to take into consideration than the cubic inches that we usually look at.
I would like my camaro more even if his car could take me.

What v8?

Do you mean the camaros with the 350? There arent as many of them around as you might think. 90% of the f-cars around here have 305's and most of them are autos. Will a stock naturally aspirated 4 cylinder beat those cars? Probably not. Most hondas and all that crap are in the mid 16 second range.

Will something like an integra that runs 15.3 out of the factory beat those carS? Now it's getting a little closer. There are a ton of them around here, too.

Let's face it.. having a v8 car and getting your *** kicked by a lousy 4 cylinder sucks!
I know of a certain civic with the worked GS-R motor that runs 13's kicked my *** by half a carlength. Then again, i had my tops off.

But everyone around thinks "well I have a v8 so I can beat anything". Sucks for them.

Still giving me a headache. I changed the relays, but to no avail. I hooked my scanner up, it had a setting for the actual value, and what the computer was accepting.
It's weird
Actual wuld go from 6 to 159 or so gm/sec
Computer would always have "6"
So I dont know
I'm going to try another PROM/ECM when I get around to it. Come to think of it, my PROM id is 8461, I can't even find that anywhere.
If not, the only other variable left is a new MAF

Re: iroc 0-60?

I have an 87 irocz 350 and I can tell you that its stock and runs about 5.7 sec 0-60 and low 14s. Not super quick but this car is a stock camaro from 87! Went through the engine when I got it, but nothing was upgraded. Now that the body is restored its time to make this thing into a torque monster and supercharge it.

This is one reason why if you install a full exhaust system on a 90-92 dual cats F-body L98, the car will run in the mid 13's@102.
