EGR questions, experienced needed

First off i did do a search and I only found posts from 5+ years ago. I was hoping to get some info from someone that might have changed a bit or something new someone has figured out since then.
I am installing an 88 Iroc 305 TPI setup on my 87 Monte SS. When I got the system off a seller through the mail it seemed to be very complete and unmolested. I later noted that the sensor that should have been mounted to the EGR wasn't. I also learned how many more things I was lacking to make the EGR fully functionable(EGR sol, etc) so I decided to just eliminate it from my harness to help clean it up.
I got a TPI wiring manual that states you can eliminate the EGR safely by connecting the Park/Neutral switch connector(B10) to the common ground wire circuit connected to the ECM terminals A-12,D-1,D3,D-6, and D-10. It says when terminal B-10 is grounded it defeats the EGR's self-diagnostics and will not let the ECM know that it has been removed leaving no negative effects.
I am using a MAF setup.
I know this sounds wierd connecting the Park/Neutral switch somewhere to help when removing the EGR(?????), but who knows.
If someone could PLEASE offer me any input on this it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

No idea about the wiring. I can say, however, that should you decide to put a EGR back on it, O-Reilly's has that little sensor. It's an EGR temperature sensor. Cost less than $20 if I remember correctly.

I deleted the egr from my car along with the air pump and have never had a code.

I guess I can see how that would work. The ECM will not run the test (for code 32) when the vehicle is in park or neutral, WOT etc... You're tricking the computer to think the car is in neutral/park. My only concern would be what else would be affected by the ECM thinking you're in park other than the EGR?

I'm assuming your car is a auto? Does it say how to do that for a manaul?

Thanks Gman 3MT. I have since decided to 'reinstall' all of the EGR stuff after reading more about how important it really is in a stock setup.
On a good note, I got the system installed on my 87 Monte SS and it turned out great! I love TPI, so now I got an L98 complete and another complete TPI system on the way!! I'm gonna collect them now
