Fans won't come on:
I replaced the sensors in each head, I am not sure if I got the right one for the passenger side. (Anybody know the PN#?) While doing a tune up my car steadily rose to just under 240*, I killed the engine then. I know the drivers side fan works because it kicks on when I jump the ADAL. Is the connecter for the passeger side sesor supposed to be just a wire, no weather pack conecter. When are the fans supposed to kick on anyway?

Well...
Primary fan comes on around 235*F, controlled by the ECM. ECM gets it's input from the CTS located at the front of the intake. Set point on/off is in the EPROM. Stock is like on-235/off-220. ECM grounds the primary fan relay which then turns on the primary fan.
Secondary fan is controlled through a relay as well (2ndry fan relay). This relay is controlled wia the fanswitch in the passenger side head. Factory setpoint is in the area of 242*F. When this FS is met, BOTH fans on your '89 should come one. This is also the FS that is changed to a lower setpoint switch, along with a lower setting Tstat, to keep the engine running cooler in idling/stop and go driving. The 2ndry fan is also controlled vis the high pressure switch in the A/C system...turn your A/c on for a few minutes and the fans should also come on.
