i've got a knock... HELP!!

so i bought an 85 camaro that was sitting since 1997 paid $180 for it and overall its in great shape. 30,000 miles on the odo...anyway i had it running kinda well enough to get it home but the next day i fired it up and it had a bad knock to it i cant figure out where its coming from of whats causing it. its the 305 lb9 tpi with a 700r4 (if that matters) i've replaced the fuel pump, filters, plugs, wires, dist. cap, coil, rotor, and flushed the engine and obviously new oil and had the tank flushed and put fresh 91 octane gas in... now it wont start most of the time but when it does it knocks and throws the occsasional fireball thrugh the muffler. timing is good but thats all i know! i need to have this thing on the road SOON so any input is greately appreciated and thank you in advance

I'd be looking closely at the timing and plug wires. Maybe check the fuel pressure too.
