1991 Camaro RS - Harmonic Balancer Wobble / Knock

I've been having a time with this engine...

1.) Heads Shaved
2.) New Cam
3.) New Lifters
4.) New Pushrods
5.) New Starter
6.) New Alternator
7.) New Oil Pan
8.) New Timing Chain
9.) New Battery
10.) New Dizzy
11.) New Carb
12.) 15 Quards of Oil down the drain
13.) 2 sets of Gaskets down the drain
14.) New Harmonic Balancer

----
That's what I've replaced so far and my issue is my new Harmonic Balancer still has a wobble up and down with it... It also has a knock it didn't have the knock before but now it has a knock...

When I was replacing the Oil Pan I was being stupid and jacked the engine up by the Harmonic Balancer which I didn't know better at the time but after I did it and seen what happened a little research explained it... Could I have messed up the main bearing? Could the Crank be bent / done? I've went broke rebuilding this engine after I bought it blind and being told it was in running order. Now I'm down to a little gas money to make it to work because I keep tossing more money at this engine trying to make it 100% right...

So any tips on what could be wrong and cheapest and easiest way to fix it.

I still have a slight oil leak not sure how or why but I need to reseat my new Oil Pan gasket it don't leak much but just enough that it's annoying...

Here is a video of my old Harmonic Balancer and the wobble it had, I replaced it and it looks a little better but still wobbling and it has me stressed out... it's sat for over a year and the past month I've been finally getting to fixing it.

I had a 89 305 rs that sounded like that. Had a broken crankshaft, your best bet is to try moving crank for and aft and that will tell you if broken and or thrust bearing issues. good luck.

I hope I didn't break a Crank... I doubt the crank is broke could be bent but I'll check it tomorrow I think if I take the pully off and start the car and watch for wobble will give me more of an answer... but is there away to check the bearings? I can check the crank with the oil pan off if I need it off but I'll need to use a Hoist next time...

I was meaning just the pully cable for a few seconds to see if the wobble is still there, I need to really pin point the issue so I know where to start.

I would remove the balancer completely and start the engine to see if there is any run out ( wobble) on the crankshaft snout where the balancer fits.
You may need to bolt a piece of wire close to the crank as a reference point so you can see if there is any movement.
A straight crank will have no run out visible

Re: 1991 Camaro RS - Harmonic Balancer Wobble / Knock

If the main bearing is messed up will it still wobble like that?

Also to add if this has anything to do with any of that, when I step on the gas "Hard" WOT the engine will die if I'm in gear...
(Not sure if this is related to this issue if so I hope it points in the right direction)
It idles great, sounds good except the little knock..

Re: 1991 Camaro RS - Harmonic Balancer Wobble / Knock

I removed the belt and it still wobbled... I had to get a new belt which helped but wobbles still... I'm at the point where if I can make it another week or two I'm just going to buy a new block and swap parts... I think my Torque Converter is bad too..

How do you think a new block is going to fix a crankshaft problem?
