Re: iac valve

Do a search using username Vader and iac.
He has posted a really good procedure on cleaning it.

Re: iac valve

Its the square plugged sensor on the passenger side of the throttle body, beneath the TPS sensor.

Re: iac valve

First thing is fresh fuel. Second thing is clean the injectors PROFESSIONALLY. If you want your car to run well it is best you send them off to have them professionally ultrasonically cleaned and flow tested.

Cleaning the IAC is as simple as removing it and spraying the heck out of it with carb cleaner, etc. New gaskets/o-rings etc are a MUST when a car is sitting for so long.

Oh and a new fuel filter, lol...

The above may not be your idle issue, but this is by far the first step with an older vehicle that has sat for so long.

Is this TPI or TBI? I assume TPI correct?

Re: iac valve

yep its tpi, ive just dropped another engine in it, as original seized. so it has all new gaskets, i bought the car not running a year ago and it had been off the road about a year then but had only done about 9 miles in about 5 years so im guessing fuel could be very old, im thinkin a good run and injector cleaner may help, just need to sort out my rear brakes
