Re: How to remove the plenum

easy! first disconnect the battery (neg first) then unplug any wires from the throttle body, maf ect. then take the air intake and throttle body off. undo the plenum to runner bolts and losen the runner to intake manifold bolts on the drivers side, this makes it a bit easier. , using the wooden handle of a hammer, gently tap the rear of the plenum at the rear downwards.thers a vacum hose from the servo at the rear of the plennum and a air intake temp sensor, unhook those and hey prsto!

Re: How to remove the plenum

Loosen to runner bolts, this will also make it much easier when putting it back together.

Loosen all the runner bolts there are 2 or three that are pretty hard to get at. need an extension and a star/torx tool. preferably one that connects to a socket. Loosen the bolts that connect to the intake manifold as well, not just the ones on top that you can see. Very good idea to get a gasket set to replace the ones between the runner tubes and the plenum. Tap it with a wooden or rubber mallet to break it loose. Be care ful there is a plastic vacume tee under there too. dont break it. well there was one under mine at least. let me see if i can find a link to show detailed instructions. when i did mine i was a little paranoid trying to be very careful not to damage anything. but once i did it it was pretty simple.

Re: How to remove the plenum

I can vouch for the use of the rubber mallet. My plenum was stuck. The gasket was holding it. Without the mallet hits (front and back), I would never have gotten the thing off!

Doesn't always work ;
I have had to put a length of pipe through the TB holes in the plenum to get one off
