Want to Tune My LT1, where to get started?

Hi,

I have a 96 lt1 from an impala ss, going into the 88 base camaro.

I am going to need VATS removed, and probably reprogram for my gear ratio / tire size, other odds and ends. Once I get the car running, I will want to play with the tuning end of things.

From what I read of Tuner pro, sounds like the software I would be using, unless you guys tink tunercat is better for the obd ii computer.

What hardware will I need?

Will I be able to flash it with bins, that have VATS, EGR, removed ?
