Alright, so I just bought an '88 IROC that has a 350 swapped in place of a 305, and I'm a bit stumped on a few things..
First of all, can anyone identify these for me?
They run on the passenger's side of the TPI system and (for some reason) I found them just laying in between the runners.. I have a picture of where they come out of a harness towards the front of the motor, that I can provide if necessary.
Secondly, it appears as if I'm missing a relay of some sort:
It's at the DEAD CENTER of this picture.
And while I have you guys here, can anyone identify the hose that is in the far right of the above picture? The one sitting in front of the ignition wires, with the 90^ fitting on it. If you look closely enough, just at the edge of the picture, you can actually see where a hose snapped off..
your wires go to and air divertor controller..it controls your air pump. that is supposed to be under it...here is what the controller looks like http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...y/100_0783.jpg I can not see the tube you are talking about in the pic, but I assume that it is also part of the smog stuff..can you get another pic of it..

oh the vac. hose..sorry let me run outside and look
Haha thanks. So all of that was just for the vacuum line that I said was broken, correct? I also found it interesting that there's a canister at the front driver's side of the engine compartment with a rather long tube coiled around it, disconnected.
I looked at the diagrams in my Haynes manual, and the problem is that the car WAS a 305TPI that is now a 350TPI and the diagrams for the car don't match up.. cause my battery is on the passenger's side front, whereas that 'canister' is on the driver's side.. so I'm not sure which one is that 'fuel vapor canister' and which is my cruise control..

yep.. for cruise control..now for the canister..there should be a fuel line on the frame rail.. and the vacumn lines go to the throttlebody
Thanks again for your help. Just to follow up, it appears as if the previous owner did away with the AIR system entirely, including the diverter you spoke of, and just left the connectors. Must have done something right, because there aren't any codes or anything.
With the charcoal canister-- are there any negatives to leaving it detached? I'm in Florida and don't have any emissions tests or anything.. Thanks.
