7165 ecu?
i have a couple of questions for anyone willing to help me out; i have a 89 camaro tpi with a 7165 ecu and was wondering if this ecu is the correct one for my car , the motor was swapped out and it came with ecu and wire harness (which is no good) i was told the ecu was for a 350 tpi but not too sure. i had an electrician come over to help me out with a fuel problem and said the ecu was not correct for the car, is there any way to identify the ecu other than the 7165 it has printed on it?? all help is appreciated thanks in advance

Re: 7165 ecu?
The 165' ecm fits both 305 and 350 tpi's from 86-89. The only difference between the 350 and 305 ones is the prom. Get the numbers of that and check what it belongs to.

Re: 7165 ecu?
ECMs are the same it's the PROMs that are different. You need the PROM designed specifically for your engine.
