Cam Guru's question for stock L98
Hey question for you cam experts. Anyone running the Lunati 20080660 cam in their L98? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/lun-20080660
Will this work with stock L98 heads/valve train/springs? I want to use this with stock L98 long block and accel superram/ edelbrock base. I'm little worried about the exhaust lift.
Any help would be great. Thanks!

Maybe something like this would be a better fit?

Also anyone care to explain what "Advertised Duration" effect has?

Re: Cam Guru's question for stock L98
advertised duration is the duration from the time the lifter opens to .006 lift and closes back to .006 lift
the crane cam would work very well.

With the right hardware, Springs, retainers etc. It should work fine. Actually IMO its a bit on the small side. I stuffed a Crane 2032 with crane gold 1.6rr's in an LB9 stock heads. Thats right at about 500 lift. Car ran perfect. No float, and made good power to 5700

Hmm may have to give Lunati a call to see what springs they'd recommend to use and if I can use it with stock heads and press in studs

Yes if you do the right spring mods and retainers, you may clear .500 or more inches. But on stock springs i dont think you can clear .470-.480, retainers may hit valve guideboss/seals.
Alexs parts spring kit seems to be mildly popular and has been used to clear big cams on stock heads. Also comp beehives work for increased lift

Called Lunati they said the cam I have listed at the top can be put right in with no modification to springs or heads. Since i did springs a few years ago I may try it with stock pieces.
Is the increased lift on the 2032 cam going to benefit a superram better than the smaller lift on the lunati cam?

Re: Cam Guru's question for stock L98
May see few ponies but likely not much to notice over the 2. 5-10 hp. I seemed to make 8 with 1.6 rockers on stock cam but tune was abit lean due to different injectors at the time, so who knows.
I would go lunati because its reasonably priced. Crane is outrageous unless its a billet core but still expensive in that scenario and unneccessary
.440-.450 lift is no problem, its getting close to being an issue with .460-.490, and there you neeed to check to see if spring will compress without retainer hitting guideboss. I dont know what springs you used tho so best to check
