EGR solenoid p/n clarification
To pass smog, I typically just bypass it for the test and then reconnect it afterwards for drivability reasons. But I'd like to actually fix it correctly so I stop getting intermittent code 32.
OK, so I've gone through numerous threads about replacing the EGR solenoid because the OEM ones haven't been made in a long time. Depending on which thread you read, there are at least three different p/n's that come up. My question is what the the correct p/n for a solenoid for a TPI car with speed density, not MAF? Some say the VS25 is the correct one, while others say that one is for TBI cars, with somebody else saying that they have one on their TPI car but it has a MAF. Others say it is the VS19 solenoid, with the same contradiction posted about that one. Can anybody conclusively state which solenoid is the correct one for SD TPI car?

Re: EGR solenoid p/n clarification
It may not matter much. A solenoid valve is just a solenoid valve. As long as the vacuum valve is ported normally closed it should operate the EGR valve. Just be sure the valved side is ported to vent when the solenoid is de-energized so it doesn't become a massive vacuum leak for the source line.
The ECM will be looking for a 30-50Ω solenoid coil attached to the output driver, and will be looking for an increase in MAP (lower vacuum) when the EGR is commanded open.

Re: EGR solenoid p/n clarification
I have three solenoids in the garage and unless I'm doing it wrong, they are all coming in at ~24-25 ohms. So I'm guessing that they are all bad.
Regardless of new solenoid, looks like I'm going to have to make the harness adapter as none of the ones I see have the style of plug that our cars had.
