Cant tell you how many you mave have, But for sure if your missing a weight, you will see a clean spot with spot weld marks,

Inspect your flywheel/flexplate for cracks near the crank area
also If It's cracked some times they make a cherping noise at Idle

Also you can try removing your torqueconverter bolts and rotating It 120 degrees, (test)and again 120 degrees, this will change the balance of the two parts rotating together

If you read above i said i have 1 weight. Everything on the motor trany and rear is brand new.

I want to know what is supposed to be there. I was told late model motors have no weights, my dad who is a mechanic told me 2 weight 180 degrees from each other, and my engine builder/shop gave me a 1 weight one. i want to know what one i need. I have a late model 350 1 peice rear main. normal 350 not LT1 or LS1. and the fly wheel is not cracked.

Ok, sorry, yea I wasnt sure If you had replaced all that,

I would just pick a late model full sized vehical with that same engine application and see what Its running with.

how Is the vibration with torqueconverted disconnected?

I am at my wits end with the same problem

Hi, I have a 1991 Z-28 with a 350 and the 700R4. I recently had the transmission replaced from a semi-reputable shop. They said the flywheel was warped, so they replace it. Upon delivery, the car had a severe vibration at idle thru about 2200 rpm's then it diminishes. I drove the car for a week, then had them replace EVERYTHING. So this time it has a different transmission, different torque converter and a different flywheel. The vibration still exists. I went ahead and put on a new balancer/dampner, but it had no effect on the vibration. Tehy insist it is the correct flywheel, but I have my doubts. - ANy thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated

PS -

P.S. I had them "clock" the torque converter by rotating it, to no avail, then I had them unbolt the converter and pull it back, but the vibration was still there.

If the engine was rebuilt it probably wasnt balanced. I had a 305 that did that cause I didnt have it balanced during a rebuild.
