Ok, let me give some history. This transmission was rebuilt in GA about 5 months ago now. It took two torque converters and 3 days to get back together somewhat correctly, at least enough to get me back home. However, the shifts are for crap now. The downshifts are about half as quick as they used to be. It takes more pedal to get the downshift. I guarantee the car is slower than it once was, and only I seem to know there's a difference.
Now, after reading as many posts as I can find, and adjusting the TV cable constantly, finishing a complete tune-up on the engine, I'm close but something still isn't right. I want to think this is a fluid pressure or a governor issue. My biggest problem is that I don't know of a single reputable shop or person that can diagnose this; that I trust. I want to get into the governor myself and play with the weights and springs; but I don't have a set, nor a lift, or most other essential specialty tools. What should I do? Who should I talk with? Who has some good suggestions for figuring this out?
Thanks in advance.
