How do you get a t5 apart.
I'm trying to get this plate off to check the gears before it goes in the car. I really don't know what i'm doing, I just unbolted it and knocked it loose. But I guess it is attached to the rod that goes to the shifter, and now I cannot get it back together right either. Someone want to give me an idea how to get it loose, thanks.

wiggle the lid to get the corner bolts with the shoulders to line up, then its cake...
its actually pretty easy to take it aprat and back together...just gotta take your time and pay attention..
if you want to take it apart, the first thing you need to do is buy some tools...you need a 3/16'' pin punch, lock rings pliers, and a set of universal snap ring pliers (inner and outer)....make sure the tranny is in neutral....take out the 6 16mm bolts that hold the tail shaft on and pry it away from the case (carefully its aluminum)..get it back to were it cant go farther becasue the shifter offset block..drive that pin out and remove the block (theres a ball and spring under that so be carefull) and the tailshaft will came right off...once its off you can take off the cover lid...
Id suggest getting a rebuiuld kit if your going to tear it apart
