Tranny Grinding into First and Reverse...dont want to force
I know this isnt camaro related but i have an 89 gmc 5-speed that i just installed a new hydraulic clutch into. It grinds when trying to put it in first or reverse and tries to jump forward and move when started in first even with the clutch depressed to the floor. I was just wandering what this could be?? Any suggestions would be helpful

ok so its something with the throw out bearing i cant really tell what they were saying about being inside or outside....

Look at the little ears on the flat spring, where the fork attaches to the throwout bearing.
The throwout has a groove about 3/16" wide, that the fork slides into. Those ears belong INSIDE that groove along with the fork, compressed into the "cavity" of the fork. It's real easy when putting it together, to get the ears sort of "clipped" onto the outside of the groove, like the top pic. That will cause the clutch to fail to release. You'll have stiff shifting, crashing into gears especially reverse, and so on; basically, exactly what you've got.

Yup, I agree - throwout bearing installed incorrectly to fork. Did it myself once and had the problems you described.
