Tranny holding third gear too long.

Car: 1985 Z28 Camaro
Engine: 5.0 TPI
Transmission: 700R-4
Axle/Gears: Posi Richmond 3.73
Tranny holding third gear too long.
Yesterday, I had to take a small trip. I drove 400 miles round trip. About half way through the trip, the transmission started acting funny. If I slowed down at all, the tranny would down shift to third and hold it for a while then shift back into OD. The tranny is from a 1986 caprice, just recently installed and professionally serviced. Should I put my old valve body in the new tranny? I did put the old gov in the new tranny.
