how weak is weak?
ok i had a couple questions. first off i have an 88 iroc with a 2.77 posi rear. i was wondering. i have a 7.5 in ring gear. also i know the 10 bolts are not very strong factory. i had been looking at saving for like 2 years for a moser 12 bolt for 2,100 $$$ does anyone know about what a 10 bolt can handle horsepower an torque wise? i was thinking of a new eaton performance aftermarket carrier and a 3.73 ring and pinion combo. also how many splined axel do the 88's have 26? i dont know much about rear ends yet so keep the insults to a minimum. thanks

ok i know there are to many variables in my question for an exact answer. but this is a very hypothetical question. ive seen some guys running aftermarket carrier, ring ,pinion, and axels in a 10 bolt and have a 450 hp motor? this doesnt seem feasable. my original plan was to replace it with a moser. then find a drop out LS1/T-56 combo but if the 10 bolt can support this power with a few aftermarket beefy parts there is no need to replace it

no.. its the same gears.
LS1 cars had 28 spline... and some had a diffrent (stronger) posi...
but, you're wasting your money beefing up a 10bolt... because no matter how much you beef up one part, theres another part thats still too weak.
