Disengagement problem... please help...

Hey guys my clutch won't disengage in my car for some reason, when there no trans in and u push the clutch in it lets the disk drop and it is totally free... the hydraulics move a hair over a half inch when off and when running. What I have changed since the last tiem they worked, stock cut flywheel to Hayes flywheel( took it out and mic'd it and its the same thickness as the old one.. Clutch disc, I put in a new Hayes street-strip disc with my old Hayes street pressure plate, same throw-out bearing, new pilot bearing supplied by Fortes with purchase of Tremec TKO. I changed the trans obviously with the TKO and it has an adapter plate I fater i had it in once ad took it out realized it wasn;t sittting flat on the bellhouseing so i did a little work and it sits perfect now... So with that said the clutch disc is free when theres no trans present, then you stab it in and it won't disengage... Now would a misaligned trans cause this?? I am on my secound adapter from fortes thinking that was the problem... Thanks so much guys, I just really want to figure this out cause it worked $2500 dollors ago and thats just upsetting... Thanks again...

well it actually came to me 15 mins after posting... I went outside and tested it and it worked. Turns out Fortes sent me the wrong pilot bearing and its smashed into the input shaft cause its to big and not letting the shaft free wheel in the bearing making it seem like the clutch was messed up. I tested it by unbolting the trans and putting some washers between the trans and bellhousing ans it worked awsome. So now to rip it all apart again and call Fortes and get the right part and money for my labor... First he forgot to send the adapter, then he forgot the speedometor adaptor, He didn't modify the trans so the speedo adapter would work so I had to cut an ear off, and then he said the disengagment problem was something I did wrong cause the hydraulics can't handle my pressure plate even thought they did just fine before, and now the wrong pilot bearing and I will have to pull the trans for the 3rd time... Don't get me wrong he not a real bad guy, just sells a low quality part, everything but the trans I need to modify to work... I don't spend this kind of money so he can just throw some stuff together ya know... But thanks for all the help everyone. I will keep you guys posted...

Ok well I took the trans out and the clutch and all and made some measurement and there a 1/4 inch of clearence so that not the problem. I am really lost now, with the trans bolted flush to the bellhousing the clutch wont disengage, But spaced from the bellhousing 3/16th and it all works fine... What could this be?? I am so lost here, I measured everthing 10 times and nothing touches...

Are the splines on the clutch gear long enough toward the bearing retainer, so that they don't bottom inside the disc when the trans is all the way in? Look at the end of them, see if you can see where the disc splines might have been hitting bottom on the gear. Also make sure the clutch gear bearing retainer isn't hitting the back side of the disc hub.

yea i measured that also, there about a half inch of clearence. Now I have a Hays Street presure plate with a street/strip disk and the disk. and the hub on it is a little longer then on a stock disc I had to compare it to.. But even with it in there still clearence...
