quick trans cooler question

I was wondering which line on the factory cooler is the inlet and which is the outlet, example the line on the upper portion of the radiator does the fluid come from the trans or does it flow back to the trans?

Surely someone here knows, if not Ill have to go find out the old fashioned way and pop the one line off and start the car for a second to see which way it flows.

On the trans the top line is the return of fluid. The bottom line feeds fluid out to the cooler. Not sure how GM runs the lines into the cooler, but a quick look-see should get you the proper line.

the top is the line going from the tranny to the cooler. the bottom is the return line from the cooler to the tranny. I installed a B&M tranny cooler this weekend and it listed that info.

Best bet is to pull the line and check, some have been known to be put on backwards at the trans.

Would it actually matter? I figure the pressure would push it either way.

That's what I did. On the radiator side, the fluid goes

IN the BOTTOM, and
OUT of the TOP.

I confirmed this with a search or two on these boards. The fluid gets pushed up thru the radiator. Maybe to get rid of any air bubbles? I used this same routing on my aux trans oil cooler also.

No it wouldent matter. The only time it matters is when you are trying to run an external cooler inline and you want to hit a certian component first.

That's good advice I have seen them swapped before too. Some people don't know any better.
