new trans...shifter options
I have a 700r4 being built for me as I type. I'm putting in an edge 3000 stall as well. The trans will be able to handle just about anything i throw at it.
the guy building my trans told me, when racing, i should always manually upshift, as it helps to maintain constant line pressure and its better for the trans...as opposed to letting it do it by itself. So, in a nutshell, I want a ratchet shifter. I need options.
I looked into the megashifter, but I don't want that...I've heard of too many complaints with regard to it...so I just don't feel like dealing with it.
I was looking into a hurst dual gate shifter, but I'm unsure as to if it works well with a thirdgen's console and the 700. This would be key if it works and all.
I'm looking for something with an easy install, good ratcheting action without a lot of hard work to pull it out of park and all...and overall a quality piece.
Thanks for any help.
