manual shifting an 700r4..hurt anything?
when my car is cold my shift points are at like 3 grand so...ive been shifting it manually. i go 1st,2nd, then drive or over drive. is that bad to do with my transmission. ive got a b&m trans pak shift kit witch, i guess, explains my wierd shift points. when its warmed up, its fine. shifts where it should. i adjusted the tv cable (it had so much slack) it made a little bit of a difference...maybe its disconnected at the trans? sorry about the mulitple questions...thanx for helping in advance

Generally speaking, shift points are controlled by the governor. You can remove it, clean it with carb cleaner, make sure the valve in the center moves freely etc. Inspect the gear and replace it if nescessary. You can buy just the gear if needed. You can also buy a complete governor if needed.

YES I GOT IT!
the ratcheting adjuster on the cable has been stuck half open. even when i adjusted it i didnt engage it all the way. i broke it loose by pressing hard with a piece of metal and i got it adjusted and now its perfect! revs high when i hammer it, shifts normal when its cold...its great...im glad thats all it was
