having trouble with megashifter install
I am having trouble installing my megashifter. First off, my car used to me a manual so I am not sure how it is supposed to be. I am having problems hooking up the cable at the transmission. The lever on the tranny has a slot in it for the cable, but the cable has a dowel screwed on it for a hole and not a slot. With the slot there is too much play, and I'm not sure how I can make it work. It would help if I had pictures, I know, but I forgot my camera and couldn't take any. Anyone have suggestions?

the mega shifter comes with it's own shift lever to bolt to the transmission. it will have three holes in it for use with different transmissions. the instructions should show this.

is this the part you are talking about? the round piece to the right threads on to the end of the cable. the big piece is the shift lever. the only other piece that attatches to the tranny is the bracket that holds the cable itself.

I have the round piece and that is fine, what is different than the picture is the shift lever, or the piece on the left. Instead of having three holes, there's one large slot that spans the same length where the 3 holes would be.

then you have the wrong shift lever. if you bought the shifter from summit, i would call them and complain. if you bought it from an individual, then summit might be able to order one from b&m. but you would have to pay for it.
