Put a 5 speed in my IROC?
hi, im thinking of putting a standard tranny in my IROC, its a 1990 with a 350 tpi and i was wondering if its a good idea or not, and if i would have to change the gears and such and what kind of transmission i should put in it and if its worth putting one in it cause i take it to the dragstrip. any ideas

Car: 91 GTA, 91 Formula, 89 TTA
Engine: all 225+ RWHP
Transmission: all OD
Axle/Gears: Always the good ones
If it were me, I'd just opt out for a 6 spd.
Might cost a little more, but better made to take the abuse in a heavier car with a 350.
Theres been a lot of write ups on it here do some searching.
Easiest way to do either the T5 or T56 is to find a donor car or a complete donor setup in one shot.
Changing gearing would be advised if you have 2 series, at least in my opinion.
