Tranny troubles
I have a T5 tranny and it made some high pitched whining noises so i changed the tranny fluid like other posts explained. But it didnt help to much cus im sure the bearings were worn out past saving. I was driving it home last night and it started to grind and clunk and make all sorts of noises. luckily i was just pulling into my driveway...i tried to shiftdown but it wouldnt there was too much grinding going on so i just pushed in the clutch and coasted to my house. What am i looking at for getting a rebuilt or used or new transmission. what would it cost?

Any year T-5 from a V8 Camaro or Firebird, 83-92, will fit. NOT a 6-cyl one, NOT a 93-up one, NOT one from some other kind of vehicle like S truck or Mustang.
I suggest getting a 2nd design one; 88-up.
