Penny For Your Thoughts?
ok i have always wanted my 350 to be straight shift and now that the 700r4 is going out its a perfect time to just go all out. ok most people have told me to just go with a t5 for some reason, but every car i've driven with a 6 speed in it i have loved more so than a 5 speed. i was thinkin t56 or a zf tranny out of a zr-1 vette thats totaled nearby....minus the lt5 :`( . ok so question is what are your thoughts on the subject? should i go with a t56 or a zf. i hear the zf are stronger than the t56. what all would have to be changed if i went with the zf instead of a t56? let me know. thanks

Well, from a how easy it is to do point of view, I'd say to go with the T56 from a 93-97 f-body hands down. I read a post on here quite some time ago from a guy wanting to put the ZF trans in his f-body, and from what the other members here told him, it'd be a complete, waking nightmare to get one fitted up and working in a thirdgen f-body. The T56 swap is well documented here on the boards, fairly simple to do, and tons of f-body guys have already done it. That's my .02 on the matter.
