questions on 12 bolt rearend's
i was wondering what 12 bolt rearend's i could use under my 86 camaro? do they have to be out of a camaro? i have a 12 bolt out of a 77 chevy 1/2 truck with 3:73 gears and disc brakes is it a do-able job?

Re: questions on 12 bolt rearend's
No junkyard 12 bolt or any other junkyard diff will fit because the third gen needs a torque arm mount. The only 12 bolt you can use is an aftermarket model designed for a third gen since no third gen came with a 12 bolt. The only junkyard diff that will swap is out of another third gen.
The truck 12 bolt is too wide. The truck 12 bolt is also weaker than a car 12 bolt. The pinion shaft is smaller so it needs a truck gear set.
