T5 slips out of reverse
i may have an opportunty at a complete t5 set up. the tranny sometimes slips out of reverse. how do you fix this, and is it a big deal? he told me to just apply some pressure to the shifter which, to me, seems like an easy fix.

Re: T5 slips out of reverse
Could be the 1/2 slider (the reverse gear is on the outside of it)
Could be the reverse idler
Could be the shifter bushing/selector parts in the tail not allowing it to go all the way in.
If it is ok in all the other gears and is quiet it should be a cheeper fix
I can help you with parts if you need any

Re: T5 slips out of reverse
It should be ok for a while that way, it will speed up the wear on the reverse fork but unless you plan on spending a lot of time in reverse it will take a while to hurt it.
