700r4 torque arm question
hello all!!!
Figured I would ask since I don't know the answer and I know one of you guys do. the question pertains to the torque arm mount on our cars. my z has been out of commission for a while, and I have finally found a replacement tranny for a reasonable price. The problem is that it's out of an full size chevy truck, and it doesn't have the attachment for the torque arm like the f-body ones do as far as I am aware. So the question is: do all 700r4's come with a torque arm attachment or do only the f-body cases have them. I would hate to buy the transmission and not be able to use it. let me know guys!!
Cheers!!!

Re: 700r4 torque arm question
Hey boss, I've been changing out trans this year, alot more then driving. For one I hope its a good one (TRANS)that you are getting, and second, what I remember is that its just the tail shaft that has those 3 bolts with the plate that goes to it and the rubber is clapped into it right. Just change the tail shaft if the other doesn't have it, I have a burban too and it doesn't have that torque arm deal. One other thing is BMR Fabrications(goggle it) they have a trans mount that has the torque arm mount mounting to the crossmember for the trans to releave strain on the tail shaft. Price is decent.
I replaced my torque arm with a weld in one that they have, hell the lower undercarriage is all their stuff.....Hope this helps
