Am I understanding This Right T5 To TH350?

I have searched and read for about 45mins now and I keep getting mixed answers on this.
Ive got a 89 RS 305 and T5
Im looking to swap out the T5 for a TH350 Im getting the B&M Kit PN-30299
What Im getting mixed answers on is whether I can use my stock drive shaft with a Long Tail TH350 or if I need a different one. Will the yoke from a T5 match the TH350, if not can I get just the yoke, or would I be better to just go get a drive shaft from a 3rd Gen with automatic?

Thanks for the help.

i think the difference is that with a th350 you need a shorter driveshaft because the th350 its a few inches larger so the auto shaft wouldn't work either i think can any body else confirm and don't forget to put your parts up for sale here a lot of guys will love to go standard

Re: Am I understanding This Right T5 To TH350?

Which flexplate do I need?

Will a TH350 torque converter bolt up to a flywheel that came from a Camaro with a 700R4?

Other than that last thing, Ive got it all ready and should be putting it in sometime this week. Just picked up a B&M Megashifter on ebay for 75.00 to.

Re: Am I understanding This Right T5 To TH350?

The TH350 torque convertor bolts right up to a 700R4 flexpate. BTDT.

As for which tail housing, the middle length (9") is the one you need to match the length of the 700R4.

Note that the TH350 has three tail housing lengths: 6", 9", and 12"

{edit: see you are going from a T5, they and the 700R4 are the same length and use the same driveshaft. So if you go with a TH350 with the 9" tail housing the stock driveshaft bolts right in. Only need to come up with a way to mount the front of the torque arm.}

Re: Am I understanding This Right T5 To TH350?

Okay so I swapped the TH350 in today, and it went better then I thought.

For info to all others

Stock flexplate from a automatic Camaro works with the TH350
Stock Driveshaft from T5 or Auto Camaro works great

I only ran into two small issues
1 the trans cross member is off by like 1 1/2 in so Im going to weld a tap on the cross member to meet the TH350's mount
2 The notch for the starter on the TH350's bell housing hit the Y-Pipe on the pass. side. But my exhaust has bent bent and cut all over, so I doubt others will run into this problem

All I got to do now is hook up the shifter, and run the trans cooler lines.

Again thanks for the help.

Im now rockin a TH350 lol
Now I wont have to worry about the trans dumpin on my when I go with more power...
