Slave cylinder for T-5
I need to find a slave cylinder for a 1988 T-5 that has more travel then the stock setup. Does anyone know if there is an after market slave cylinder that will provid me with more travel?
Thanks

No, there are not any slave cylinders with more travel. However, you do have 2 options.
1st, is to make a longer slave cylinder clutch pushrod. That will put the piston in the slave cylinder further back, and result in a longer travel stroke when you depress the clutch pedal. About 5/8" is good.
2nd, is to purchase a longer throwout bearing which are available at auto parts stores. They accomplish the same thing as a longer pushrod. The collar on the longer throwout bearing is about 5/8" -3/4" longer.

The problem with the clutch is not when the throwout bearing starts to disengage the clutch, its a lack of travel in the slave cylinder system. I installed a Center Force duel friction clutch, and the clutch does not completely disengage when the clutch pedal is depressed fully. It drags ever so slightly and causes missed shifts when shifting at high RPM. The flywheel was resurfaced and a new throwout bearing was installed with the clutch along with a pilot bearing. My pedal free travel is around 1" (which is normal) but the clutch does not completely disengage. I am looking for a way to get a little more slave cylinder travel to eliminate this problem.

I had the same problem. My factory belhousing had an adjustable pivot ball. I tightened it up a little (it kept backing out so I had to loctite it) and it was fixed.

my slave cylender keeps popping... and i noticed that my pivot ball isnt screwed in all the way. will screwing it in all the way fix it?
i have a t-5 with a centerforce Df2 setup. im sick of popping these slave cylenders, and have gone through 5 since i bought the car in 2000.
if i screwed in the ball-studd all the way, wouldnt my slave cylender need to travel further to disengage the clutch then?
thanx
