I just finished my T56 swap into my 89 IROC, do I have to tune out the tq converter lockup or anything? I went for a quick drive around the block before we had a downpour and my check engine light came on for a few seconds when I was in 3rd gear then didn't come back again. Even while I had it idling in my driveway and just moving it around the garage.

Did you wire the VSS to the ECM? The T56 VSS signal isn't directly compatible with your '89 VSS. Without tuning the PROM to tell it you have a manual trans now, your idle will be higher than normal, trying to overcome the TQ conv load.
Jumper A-B on your ALDL if you don't have a scanner, and pull the code to see why the SES light came on before.
