manual to Auto?
Since the T5 blew up on me in my Camaro I was thinking about switching to a th350 tranny and was wondering what I would need to change?
I know I would need a Flexplate and torque converter, would I need a different cross member also? Right now I have a very mild 350 running a vacuum advanced disty and Holley 600cfm carb. No computer.
I have a full rebuild kit for the t5, but not too sure on the full extent of the damage, like input shaft, and gears. Should I just wait until I can get the tranny pulled out of the car and take it down to a shop and have them check it out and if it isn't too bad just rebuild it?

I would keep it 5 speed. Even if your trans is trashed beyond repair a used replacement can be had for pretty cheap. Plus you would probably miss the stick if you went auto.

But I am waiting on a call back, might just be getting a whole new car for cheap.

Well found an 84 Z28 for $200 needs a couple new doors and a passenger fender and a paint job and a really good cleaning, but it's decent has a 5 speed and the t-tops don't leak. It will be a decent car once I get it cleaned up.
