I have run both and the B&M is WAY BEHIND the Transgo in MANY aspects. My fullsize van with 3.08s and P295/50/R17s would spin the tires(both) for about 10 ft on the 1-2 upshift and bark the tires on the 2-3 upshift, yet drove around mildly enough at light throttle to drive grandma around.

Re: best 700r4 shift kit?

i too have had both b&m and transgo... and honestly i like the b&M... to me it feels better through shifts and it shifts hard from first to second to third... mine is also pressure sensitive.... the harder you press down on the pedal the longer it holds the gear before it shifts and if you have it mashed then it will shift pretty damn hard.... pretty cool feature actually.....and my 700r4 can go into fourth gear at wot... i dont think stock 700r4s can do that.. my 700r4 has been completly been reworked so i have the best everything in there.... so that might be another reason..

Re: best 700r4 shift kit?

I have been modifying the TransGo Perfomance Shift kit for many years now, and it has worked out very well. This kit has the best of both worlds, smooth part throttle shifts and quick and firm WOT shifts. You can make the modification to hold 4th gear at WOT. Just ask when you order the kit and I will send the instructions on how to do this. If you have any questions on this let me know? Dana

I got the kit from Pro Built and I'm very happy with it, just be careful when installing it.

Re: best 700r4 shift kit?

The kit sells for $164.82. Go to https://www.700r4l60e.com/store/prod...&cat=65&page=1 This includes the .500 main boost valve, .296 intermediate/reverse boost valve, Corvette servo, updated Viton seals, new accumulator pistons and new oem accumulator pins, the 700-2-3 shift kit, the junior shift kit, valve body gaskets, and everything else necessary to do the job right. The WOT 3-4 is an easy modification, I include the instructions for this in the kit if desired. Dana
