Car: 1991 Z28/2010 RS
Engine: 5.0 TPI/
Transmission: 700R4 w/B&M Stage 1
help needed w/removal of diff. front seal
I haven't found an anwser to this question anywhere. I need to replace the front seal on my 3rd member(diff.) What is the best way to take this out? I have tried to remove it from the front but the only way I see of doing that is by a little force and bending the old seal than prying it out. Any ideas that are less threatening to the gears.

Bending it and prying it out works for me. I havn't had any problems doing it that way. The only other way I know of is to remove all of the parts from the rear end and punch it out from the back side.

I was thinking for that myself but didn't want to pass the other gears and create a nick. Thanks, I'm going out and try the pry method.

Do you know a David Rossinal from that area? He just got out of the Army about 12 months ago.
