Torque Converter going bad?

Re: Torque Converter going bad?
I am not sure of the exact symptoms of a failing torque converter. Perhaps you could list the symptoms you have and someone who has had them before can chime in.

Re: Torque Converter going bad?
first indication i had of mine going bad was when the
tranny started slipping in 1st gear-investigating the
problem i thought the front pump had bit the dust, but
once dropped and apart found the aftermarket "stall"
converter's needle roller thrust bearing had gone bad,
let the stator rub the fins and plugged my tranny,add-on
filter and cooler with metal shavings-low oil pressure
causing the slippage Ended up taking the tranny
apart,inspecting for damage(just a little)mucking out
all the shavings, put back together and reinstalled with
a stock converter.
BTW the aftermarket converter had around 80,000
miles on it.
