LS1 10 Bolt E brake cable HELP

Hi guys,

I have just swapped in an LS1 10 bolt into my 91 Firebird and I am at a loss as to what to use for parking / e brake cables. The 10 bolt is from an 02 Camaro and my Firebird was originally a rear drum brake car.

I have searched and read the faq, but it seems no one seems has a straight answer as to what to use and all the part numbers listed are no longer valid. I saw the flynbye cables, but would prefer not to order them because of the move and wait involved.

Basically, I need to know what to get so that the parking / e brake cable will work.

Thanks in advance for the help.

hawks has them too....

or, apparently, you can swap the cable tat runs from the e-brake handle to the tunnel with a 98-02 one and that will make the stock 4th gen cables work. I have heard this, have never do it. I have used Flynbyes and Hawlks cables, both work well, but i found the hawks ones to be a little on the short side, they work, but i would have liked to see them a inch or two longer.

I prefer 'store bought', but there's always another way to skin a cat:

Re: LS1 10 Bolt E brake cable HELP

I simply used wire rope clamps from Home Depot, and connected the cars cables to the LS1 rears cables up inside the tunnel. Cost me about $6 in stainless steel clamps, took me about 20 minutes to connect, and has worked great for the last 5 years.
