Double check before purchase
Idk if I should post this here, but:
I can buy a 355 shortblock for $200
It's a 2 piece rear
My car= 91 rs 305/ wc-t5
1 piece rear main
I was told that all I need to do is replace was the flywheel.
All I need is verification from the tranny department before agreeing to purchase this engine. Any additional info would be great, thanks

Re: Double check before purchase
If flywheel is all that's needed, this should be the part number right?
part number 50-6516
Thanks

A few ways to look at it.
Depending on how old it is, it
will cost more to use a roller cam vs. an 87-up block
will leak at the rear main way before an 86-up block will
will have bore wear long before a late block will.
82-85 Camaro flywheel will work.

Wow!! Those are good points, I never thought about that. Well, you have just changed my mind.... But that's ok, I have found several of 350 standard bore engines at descent prices. I can always fork up the money to make it a 355 if that's where I wanna go in the future. I'll stick to a 1 piece rear, seems hassle free. Thanks
