Calling my ThirdGen brethren!

Calling my ThirdGen brethren!
Alright guys, I got a bit of a problem with my tranny.
Alright, i think its the tranny. Has to be.
Ill be driving down the road, and lets say, I get on the highway, and kick it into higher RPM's. Well, when I get on the highway, Ill let off the pedal kinda fast, and the RPM's will stay there for about three seconds, then finally drop the rev. I mean, it will stay right in place, and the engine will stay in gear, then it just drops. I think I have a 700R4. Not too sure myself.
Any ideas on what it might be?

Are you saying it stays near the rpm you were at and drops slowly or does it stay exactly there then drop?
Count your gears, it might not be getting into lockup which means its in 3rd causing it to rev higher. Check the TV cable for slack or it getting stuck as well as the throttle body.
Check the simple stuff first.
