Clutch pedal bushing (strong replacement)?
I've had my 86 Camaro for almost 3 years now. I have gone through FIVE of these little plastic clutch bushings. (part number 14091384). They are cheap so it's not a huge deal but it's extremely annoying breaking one and having to get over on the side of the road and down in the floorboard to try and put a new one on. (After the first two broke I started keeping an extra in my glove box lol).
Is there an alternative replacement that is stronger than these little plastic things? It seems odd for me to go through so many of them, but I don't know what to do about it. Looking at the master arm coming up to it, it is slightly crooked so sits on the pedal with maybe a 1 or 2 degree angle. I'm guessing that is what is causing it to break by putting the pressure on it side ways instead of straight on, but there doesn't look to be anything that I can do to fix it. Nothing is out of alignment as far as I can tell, master is bolted to the firewall flush, and the pedals are still bolted to their factory original bolting pionts.
If needed I can try to take a picture of how the arm sits on the pedal to show the slight slant I'm talking about.
