Bad torque converter ??

Hey guys, what are some of the symptoms of a torque converter going out or bad ? I'm asking because all of a sudden my 87 T/A bracket car slowed down & has no bottom end power. Not even enough power to do a burn out. Since I have tried almost everything I know , such as replacing almost the entire fuel system and many of the ignition components, I am curious if the torque converter could cause no bottom end & then start pulling really hard around 3000 RPM'S. I'm completely lost. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys...
