A "manual" valve body should never be able to shift by itself. If it's a true manual valve body, there will be no accululators or governer in the tranny to let it shift by itself.
I've never seen a manual valve body offered for the 700R4 yet.

i ve had it in for about two years and it holds up great. it is a true manual valve body because it used to never shift by itself. it would stay in the same gear no matter how fast or slow you were going. now, it shifts by itself every once in a while.

Then you must have an internal leak somewhere allowing hydraulic pressure to allow it to upshift. Like I said. It should never upshift by itself since the components to allow it to do so should have been removed.

I used to see a manual valve body in Summit for the 700R4, I think it was by TCI, not sure, but I don't see it in the latest catalog. Any decent tranny shop can make the modifications to change your trans to a full manual.
With the full manual you're running full line pressure on every shift and I'd think that would get old real quick for everyday driving. Zach92RS, you don't find the shifts violently harsh for everyday use?

actually, the shifts are not that bad. i got the tranny from a guy in texas, that had just gotten it rebuilt when he sold his car or something. you get used to the shifts and it works good in the quarter with my mega shifter. if i changed anything, i would make it a reverse pattern.

If you know where to get a gated, not ratchet, shifter for a 700 with reverse pattern let me know. My bro has a full man in his 700 and we'd prefer a gate over ratchet due to durability issues. Thanks.
